Why the CDL program at SJC?

Joseph, a 2018 graduate, shares why the CDL program at San Juan College helps graduates  become confident drivers.

Meet Daniel Garcia, San Juan College CDL Graduate.

"My experience at San Juan College has been awesome. The instructors through the CDL and apprenticeship program were all great. Not just through the written part of the exam, but also preparing me for road trips, safety on the highway, how to maneuver the big trucks, backing up, and alley docking. The trainers all had their own techniques that helped me in every way."

The School of Energy’s CDL program is the best in the state. Students are taught how to maneuver large trucks, as well as how to inspect and load trucks to comply with regulations. In addition, students receive instruction on endorsements and log books.

Class A, B, and passenger training vehicles are available.

The CDL Class A is an eight-week class, start to finish, 14-credit hour program. Refresher upgrade and Class B programs are also offered. State-certified CDL examiners offer the CDL test, which is conducted on a 30- acre paved lot with 10 backing ranges.
